20 years of Mandriola on local press "Il Tirreno"

For its 20th "birthday", Il Tirreno celebrates La Mandriola.

LAJATICO.Venti years ago the City of Lajatico released the first authorization to carry out the activities to farm "La Mandriola", owned by the farm In Barbafieri Ragone. A complex, surrounded by hills with views of Volterra, which were acquired by the principles Corsini. Recovery was performed by family Barbafieri obtaining fifteen apartments with all the comforts needed. Soon came in the first foreigners, especially Germans.

Giancarlo (pictured with his wife Graziella Heels) first and then with his son Henry and the whole family have dedicated themselves to the recovery of the other cottages adjoining the farm Mandriola.

Currently the complex followed by the family can accommodate 60 people. The farm, which has remained at the center of the attivita farm, has grown in size and has been certified for organic farming, for the production of vegetables, a new vineyard sangiovese grapes. It is organized by reservation with the restaurant looking for simple and genuine things, with reference to the traditions of good living in the countryside, and this also for those who frequent the golf driving range.

"Celebrating the twentieth anniversary we peeled the guest book - explains Barbafieri - and we found lots of evidence. There are guests who came in these twenty years, and in some cases more than once a year. "Meanwhile the High Era Valley has become known around the world thanks to the maestro Andrea Bocelli and, above all with the crisis of the traditional markets (Germany), the owners of the farm have broadened customer research to America, Canada, Japan, China, the Scandinavian countries and those of Eastern Europe.

The family Barbafieri offers its guests the "Mandriola" a historic property of their part of the building Maffei / Guarnacci, dating back to 1200, in order to integrate a relaxing holiday with the opportunity to relive historical and cultural aspects, with guided tour of the city of Volterra.
